Run on premises
Honestly not the most original of films. It runs the gamut of many cliche's both from romantic comedies and from inspirational sports films. What is original, refreshing and completely undeniable is the performance of Simon Pegg and Hank Azaria. They're both incredible in this movie and spot on in their roles.
If you're looking for Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz you won't find it as there's no Nick Frost in this movie and it's not directed by Edgar Wright (Simon's collaborators for those projects). But still... one out of three here is still better than most standard fare you see in movies.
Definitely worth picking up.

Must see to believe
1 of 1 found this helpful Great 80's kungfu movie with soul humor and spirit. Bruce Lee Roy is a young black man searching to become a kung fu master. He is faced by adversity at every turn as he's hounded by the Shogun of harlem and is called on to protect his family and a beautiful TV personality. Full of camp, heart, and soul is a Must see.

Smashing solo effort
Greg Camp has been the lead songwriter for Smash Mouth since their inception and proves here to be the real talent behind the band in his solo debut.
The hooks, energy, and smooth california grooves are all very reminiscent of the best work from Smash Mouth's catalogue particularly Astro Lounge and Get the Picture. His vocals are even remniscent of Harwell's. It is toned down and doesn't have the grandeur and instrumental layering of his previous band's work but the tone and feel are all there.
Zombies on Parade and Beautiful Disaster stand out for my taste.
Definitely recommended.
