RARE Citizen Navihawk World Time Chronograph C300-000192 TA SS Quartz

sweet multi-zone aviator watch

I bought one of these (C300-Q000192) Citizen Navihawk watches new around 1990 to celebrate my pilot license. Although it is easier to do aviation calculations on a smartphone, this watch is still a nice conversation starter with pilots, and good for travel to non-fractional time zones. India is covered, but Central Australia, Iran and Afghanistan are not. It is also a very good wristwatch for low light, with high contrast between white hands and black background. The missing fifth star is the missing sweep second hand, which led me to buy a newer C650 Citizen aviator watch when it came out. Note that this (C300) early version of Citizen aviator watch predates the Citizen Eco-Drive mechanism, so plan to replace the C300 watch battery every few years. Service from Citizen of America is solid and authoritative, if slow and expensive. Assuming this is not your only watch, so you can be patient about its eventual return, I can recommend their service, which is part of the value of this watch. A normal jeweler can replace the battery, but make sure they have a fresh gasket if you want to maintain water resistance and a new crystal if you want a fresh look. Once you know about the lack of second hand, no Adelaide or Kabul time zones and the periodic battery replacement, I can happily recommend this beloved watch to you.
