Failure prone
1 of 1 found this helpful First one that came with clock/temp/humidity lasted about a year. The replacement lasted about a month. Pretty much needs to be in direct sunlight to charge; but if it is, it goes overtemp and does not recover gracefully. Charging system is inadequate and electronics not really weatherproof. Basically useless.

More show than go
This watch (5298 module) is not solar nor atomic and does not have a screw down crown. The stopwatch, though functional, is pretty much for aesthetics. The stopwatch dials are obscured by time keeping hands most of the time. The time keeping minute and hour hands are very large and do an excellent job of hiding stopwatch dials. The time keeping sweep second hand on the other hand is nearly always invisible to old eyes. Resetting the stop watch causes the second hand to go relatively slowly in reverse as there is one motor that handles the stop watch function. It is smart enough to go forward after 15 minutes elapsed time, but reset can take up to 15 seconds. Months other than 31 days will require manual intervention for date correction.

1 of 1 found this helpful Got one of these a couple of years ago. I use it for watch repair. The plus is it allows enough room to access the viewed object. It would be useless for watch repair if it didn’t. The 20x is really too strong for some watch repairing operations since the field of view is frequently inadequate to see a complete balance assembly, and the halogen bulb has a nasty tendency to burn wayward fingers. A 10x 30x with led illumination would be better suited for this kind of work. Sill, a great value and pretty sturdy construction as long as your feet don’t tangle with the cord. (Experience talking) My son was able to see the authentication etching on the wife’s diamond and I could see the crystalline structure of the gold in watch gears as well as hairspring details.
