Can't go wrong with a Shure!
Workhorse, gottahave mic. Can't beat the price or sound. I also like the SM 57 for vocals and general use. I have an SM56 which is an SM57 with the threads built in from 1978 thats sound like it did when it was new! Go to Shure.com and check out the intended applications of the various Mics so you get what you need. I bought this for general studio inventory. Always great mic's for the dollars.

GREAT QUALITY UNIT , very cost effective and versatile recording or live!
This is a recording or live preamp/mixer. CH 1 and 2 have multiple preamp emulation choices (nice). It has optical in and out, TRS outs, word clock, SPDIF. I am learning to use it with acid pro. For me, a little hard at first to understand, but got it almost going in a day and a half. Great specs and if you shop you get a lot of bang for the buck. Two hi end mic pre's, ch 3 and 4 have added direct instrument TR inputs, all channels 1 thru 8 have XLR and TRS in puts and source assignable TRS outputs. You can save the setting to CMOS and use the unit standalone on live gigs. It is taking me a while to get running as I want to have the Mics, drums, guitars go from it to the DAW clean with no processing, yet use the outputs to connect to the analog outboard gear to get the processed inspired "feel" while recording. Recording to the DAW clean allows me to change my mind on how much and what kind of processing/effects to settle on in the final mix. Very versatile unit, high end (sampling up to 192), and very cost effective. I think I got mine as a refurb for 7 or 8 hundred. Go to Focusrite.com for details and manuals.
Bunn HG Phase Brew 8-Cup Stainless Steel Home Coffee Maker Brewer w Glass Carafe

Looked good on paper but...
I've had it about 2 weeks now. 1. It shuts off prematurely at times. I cleaned it very well with vinegar yesterday according to the instructions and this morning it shut off early after the 2nd pot brewed. I don't think it shuts off before it brews but it certainly isn't staying on the whole 2 hours it is supposed to. I just push the brew button again and it seems to stay on at that point. 2. Not sure it really gets as hot as it says because there is a fine powdery kind of residual (not a sooty type deposit) that I see near the bottom of the cup in the coffee as if it didn't dissolve all the way or something.. 3. The carafe doesn't pour neatly, you have to be REAL careful or there will be many drips when you lean it back after pouring. Requires a little juggling and a lot of attention. We just keep a paper towel around for those drips. I am not sure if this was totally brand new, it seemed like it should be and showed no trace of previous use. Since the carafe came broke to bits due to poor packing, I can't swear that the replacement they sent is what comes with it but it seems to fit everything perfectly. We'll try it a while more and either get used to it or write off the (?) 60-80 dollars we paid and get something else.
