Typically, the LCD screen consists of three different parts. The LCD screen of your LG phone is in fact the innermost part, and its function is to create the image for your display. Between the LCD and the protective front glass lens lies the screen digitiser, which turns your display into a touch screen.

If everything on the screen is working, but the glass lens has cracks, then it is just the front glass. This is luckily the easiest part to replace. If your display has lost its touch screen functionality, the problem is with the screen digitiser. A spider web pattern and discoloured parts on the display indicate a faulty LCD part. You can have several broken parts as well.

When looking for a replacement, make sure you find the right one among the many mobile phone parts available. The part needs to be compatible with LG phones as well as with your particular model and version. Otherwise, it might not work because you cannot install the wrong part. Also note that some phones may have the LCD part and the screen digitiser integrated. In such a case, it is not possible to replace just one of them, as you cannot separate them.
