Tubular’s resurrection, resurgence, & redemption
Once a court style of sports shoe back in the 80’s, the original Tubular series was shelved. But these sneakers were resurrected and adidas created an all-new updated version of the silhouette dubbed the Tubular Runner in 2014.
The Tubular Runner became so popular after it was introduced, that adidas has expanded the series to multiple other shoe lines including Defiant, Viral, Doom, Radial, Shadow, and the popular Tubular Dawn among others. Tubular Dawn
While initially there was only men’s sizing and styles available for Tubular sneakers, there has since been a number of lifestyle silhouettes released specifically for women. One of the more popular ladies’ sneakers is the adidas Tubular Dawn, which was heavily influenced by Yohji Yamamoto’s design of highly popular Y-3 shoe for women.
Available exclusively in women’s sizes, the adidas Tubular Dawn silhouette features a sleek black slip-on upper with pink accents, and bold ribbon branding on the side panels to keep laces in place. Streamlined, sculpted, and slim, the ventilated uppers are set above a white sole unit with an updated suede heel exposing the wavy traction pattern that continues to the bottom of the midsole.
