Whether you've simply forgotten your password and need to reset it, or want to make a change for security reasons, it's easy to change your eBay password. To protect your account though, we'll always first ask you to confirm your identity using email, text, phone call, or PayPal.
After you've registered with eBay, sign in to your account whenever you're looking to buy and sell. Signing in gives you a more personalised shopping experience. It also gives you access to My eBay, where you can keep track of all your buying and selling activities, items you've saved to your watch list, and your favourite sellers and searches.
You'll also need to be signed in to exchange messages with other eBay members.
- Go to our Sign in - opens in new window or tab page.
- Enter your email address or username.
- Enter your password.
- Select Sign in.
If that doesn't work, here are a few things to check:
- Make sure the Caps Lock on your keyboard isn't on
- Look for any spelling errors
- If you've recently changed your username or password, your browser might remember your old information. Try manually entering your new username and password
If you're still having problems logging in, you can ask us to text you a temporary password - opens in new window or tab, or you might need to reset your password - opens in new window or tab.
Your password is case-sensitive, so make sure Caps Lock is turned off.
How to sign out
To log out, select your name, which is shown in the top left corner of most eBay pages, and then Sign out. We recommend you log out of your account whenever you've finished using eBay, especially if you're using a public or shared device.
Sign in to your eBay account for a more personalised shopping experience, and access to My eBay for tracking buying and selling activities, your watch list, and your favourite sellers and searches.
