Here's how to set up calculated postage options when listing your item:
- On the listing page, scroll down to the Postage section.
- From the Postage method dropdown, select Standard postage.
- Add Package weight and Package dimensions. These details are used to help calculate your postage costs.
- If you're sending an irregular package (for example, mailing tubes, nonrectangular packages, items not fully encased in cardboard or items without packaging), open the See postage options menu on the right and select Irregular package
- Open the Cost type dropdown under Domestic postage and select Calculated: Cost varies based on buyer location.
- If a Primary service is not already pre-selected, select Add primary service. To change the Primary service or add another service, select the three dot menu.
- We'll suggest a recommended service with the best rate using eBay postage labels, or you can choose your preferred service(s)
- If you want to cover the costs of postage, select Offer free postage under Primary service.
The calculated postage cost shown to buyers on your listing will reflect eBay's negotiated rates available when you buy postage labels on eBay.
If you prefer to set your own postage costs, you can choose a flat rate in the listing form, set up a postage business policy, or use postage rate tables to set postage costs by region.
Tip
You can also use the postage calculator - opens in new window or tab tool before creating your listing, to research what it might cost to post your item to different locations.
