Penny Skateboards

Penny skateboards are a type of short cruising skateboard made of plastic. It is also the actual name of a company that manufactures these types of skateboards, which is where they get their name from. The company utilises a high-quality plastic deck on the cruiser wheels and frame, or a truck. Penny skateboards are light in weight and very strong as a result of their plastic deck. They come in three different sizes 22 inches, 27 inches (the Nickel, by name) and 36 inches, which is their longboard. These skateboards come in a wide assortment of colours and designs, allowing the customer to pick and choose their own custom skateboard.

Characteristics

Penny skateboards have a few unique characteristics in that their design allows the skateboarder to ride barefoot, which has caught on in popularity with this brand. Also, because of their light weight, they are a great option for young people and students, as they are easy to carry around and can fit in most backpacks. In addition, as a testament to their durability and strength, they are able to carry the weight of an entire car and mould back to their original shape.

Other Skateboards

Cruiser skateboards get their name from being able to cruise around town. These types of skateboards are not suitable for doing tricks. Additionally, they are not long enough to count as longboards, but they do compare in function. Cruisers tend to have softer and smaller wheels than trick skateboards. This allows them to go over much harsher terrain but also limits them in their ability to less aggressive skating styles. Longboards are skateboards that are 36 inches or longer. As skateboards have evolved, the characteristics that initially differentiated longboards and cruisers are more of a blur. However, all longboards have large soft wheels. They also have the capability to turn sharper turns and have a higher truck.
