Decorate Your Child’s Room With Cute Kid’s Lamps

When it comes to decorating your child’s room, there’s no shortage of cute and colourful accessories that you can choose from. From animal themed bookends to bright and colourful wall vinyls, the choice is endless. This includes a wide selection of cute kid’s lamps that continue the theme and brighten up the room once it gets dark.

Kid’s lamps aren’t just decorative

Many lamps designed for children’s rooms are also dimmable and suitable to use as a night light. These are great if your child has a fear of the dark and having a warm, low-light lamp on makes them feel more comfortable going to sleep.

There are even kid’s lamps that double as a money box. Not only do these make your child feel comfortable and secure at night but they also encourage saving.

Some kid’s lamps are also controlled just by touch. This means you can go into the room once the child is asleep and just gently touch the lamp to turn it off without waking the child.

Kid’s lamps are cheap to run

Most of the kid’s lamps available use low-energy LED bulbs. These use very little electricity and are designed to last for a long time. This helps to keep your energy costs down, even if you keep the lamp on all night.

Some lamps also come with a timer that you can set to have the light turn off itself after a certain time, usually 30 minutes or so.

Why turning off the room light and turning on a lamp before bedtime is important

Studies have shown that bright light right before bedtime can suppress the development of melatonin. Melatonin is responsible for helping both kids and adults to fall asleep and to stay asleep.

Therefore, it’s important to turn off the main room light in your child’s bedroom before bedtime and to turn on a low-light lamp instead. It’s even recommended that we use warm bulbs in amber or red as these don’t disrupt the production of melatonin.

This is just another reason why kid’s lamps are an important and necessary part of a child’s room.
