Kneeboards are so much easier than wakeboards or water skis because you don't have the hassle of standing up and keeping your balance. The kneeling position is easy to get the hang of, and the low centre of gravity means you can stay up for a long time. Being in a kneeling position means you are less of a target for wind and waves that want to put you on your back.

Choosing a kneeboard
Like most sports equipment, kneeboards come in a range of styles to suit your experience, with everything from cheap beginners' kneeboards with support features to help you get upright, to advanced expert kneeboards with specialist fins and shapes to help with tricks and jumps.
Budget kneeboards, designed for recreational fun, tend to be made of PVC, while more advanced kneeboards are made of lightweight carbon fibre.
In all but the most basic kneeboards, the top surface will have a molded EVA insert to make your ride more comfortable. Look for quality in the strap that holds you in place, with broader, padded straps preferable for your security and comfort.
