Swimming Equipment

Swimming is a great way to exercise and having the right gear for when you get into the water will help you to feel comfortable and able to swim the best that you can. It doesn’t matter if you are just starting out and learning to swim or if you’ve been at it all your life, looking and feeling great while doing your sport can make all the difference. There are many things that you need to assist you in the pool, including a swimsuit, goggles and swimming cap. Beginner swimmers can use a life vest or kickboard and some swimmers may like to use earplugs to avoid water getting in their ears.

Swimming Caps

Swimming caps may not be the most fashionable thing you can wear, but they serve many purposes when you are swimming. Caps keep your hair tucked nicely away so that it doesn’t end up floating around your face and distracting you from swimming. They also help to protect your hair from chlorine or salt water, which can prove to be damaging when you are in the water for long periods of time.

Swimming Goggles

Let’s face it, most of us struggle to keep our eyes open underwater due to the chlorine or salt content. It just doesn’t feel nice. By using goggles, you can easily open your eyes under the water and see where you are going while swimming. This is especially important if you are doing laps and need to see where the end of the pool is.

Swimming Fins

Swimming fins can be very useful when swimming in the sea as they allow you to swim faster and with more power. You can use them while snorkelling or in case there are strong currents.

Life Vest

Beginner swimmers or people that are not confident in the water should always wear a life vest while out in the water. Wearing a life vest can prevent you from going under the water as they keep you afloat. You should also wear them on boating trips in case of any accidents.
