Fees for selling a vehicle on eBay Motors

The fees for listing and selling a vehicle are different to those in other categories. We charge an insertion fee when you create a Motors listing, and a final value fee when your vehicle sells.

The fees on this page apply to listings within the Vehicles - opens in new window or tab categories.

Our regular fees will apply if you are selling parts and accessories. Please see the appropriate page below:

This page was updated on 1 January 2024 to remove old information about how fees are charged. Fee amounts have not changed.

The amount we charge for selling in Motors vehicle categories depends on the listing format and optional features you choose. Unless otherwise stated, Motors fees are the same for all sellers, whether or not you have an eBay Store.

Additional terms and conditions for eBay fees

  • Most fees and selling costs will be automatically deducted from your sales proceeds prior to payout. Details of the fees or costs will be on your Financial statement.
  • If your funds awaiting payout are insufficient to cover your selling costs, we'll charge the payment method you've set up on your seller account or otherwise collect fees and selling costs from you as set out in the Payments Terms of Use - opens in new window or tab.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

  • If your registered address is in Australia, Australian GST of 10% is payable on your eBay fees. Unless you provided eBay with your ABN and registered for tax exempt status - opens in new window or tab, we'll charge your eBay fees inclusive of GST.
  • If you live outside Australia, depending on the tax legislation of your country or region of residency, local Goods and Services Tax (GST), Value Added Tax (VAT) or similar consumption tax might apply, instead of Australian GST.
  • Details of any tax charged on your seller fees will be on your monthly invoice.
  • For more information about how tax may apply when buying and selling on eBay, please refer to our Tax policy.
