Maintaining a secure marketplace
You can now report inappropriate messages and block members directly from your conversations. Help maintain a secure marketplace by reporting scam, offensive, threatening, or unwanted messages

What you need to know
To keep eBay safe, we have introduced a feature that allows you to report inappropriate messages and/or block members directly from your conversations. We encourage you to report any messages that violate our policies. Here’s how to report inappropriate messages:
- On mobile: Click the menu button (the three dots) in the top right corner of the conversation. Select Report message and choose the appropriate category and provide details as requested.
- On desktop: Use the Action button in your inbox. Once you report the message, you’ll be prompted to specify the reason for your report.
- Your report will be sent directly to us for review. Depending on the severity of the violation, we may send warnings, block the member from further communications, or suspend their account.
How to block and unblock members
- To block a member, access your conversation and click on the menu button (the 3 dots when using a mobile device), or use the Action button (on desktop).
- Select Block this member from the options provided.
- To unblock a member, go to your Account Settings > Selling preferences > Block buyer list. Remove the eBay username of the member from the list.
This is aimed at helping prevent inappropriate behavior and create a safer eBay for everyone.
Rest assured that your reports will be thoroughly reviewed, and appropriate actions will be taken against any violators of our policies.
