How does Team Access work?

Team Access lets account owners invite others to perform specific tasks in Seller Hub using their own eBay accounts. Each invite includes defined permissions, which determine what actions team members can take once they accept the invitation.

Owners and team members can manage permissions and invitations anytime from the Team Access dashboard in My eBay Account Settings.

How can I start using Team Access?

With Team Access, you can grant permissions, send invites and manage team members from the Team Access dashboard.

To find your dashboard, account owners must opt in to Seller Hub to allow another team member access to their account. Then, you can grant permission for them to act on your behalf.

Go to My eBay > Summary > Account and click Team Access under Account Preferences to invite individuals and give them the access they need.

  1. Enter their name and email address. You can also send this person an optional message that’ll be included with their invitation.
  2. After you select the access and permissions you want to grant, click “Send invite.”
  3. The person can then accept the invite and have access to perform the tasks you’ve chosen for them in your Seller Hub.

If the person you wish to grant access to doesn’t have an eBay account, they’ll need to create an account first using the same email address you’ve sent the invitation to.

Once signed in, the team member will have access to the account owner’s Seller Hub to perform the functions granted to them. They won’t have access to any other parts of the account owner’s Seller Hub or account.

Control your team’s access

When inviting a team member, you can hand-pick the permissions they’ll have, allowing them to carry out tasks you’ve chosen while restricting certain parts of the account.

Team members can only see the specific sections of Seller Hub you’ve assigned them access to via permissions. They’ll never have access to personal, business or bank information, or to account administration or advanced settings.

You can grant any of the following permissions:

Listings

  • Post and manage listings
  • Create draft listings

Orders

  • Manage refunds, requests and disputes
  • Download order reports
  • Print shipping labels
  • Add shipping tracking

Rest assured, your password and other personal details on your account are secure and won’t be shared with the accounts you invite through Team Access.

  • Who can be a team member?

Anyone with an eBay account that has enabled two-factor authentication can be a team member.

  • How many team members can an account owner invite?

There’s no limit to the number of team members that can act on behalf of an account. We recommend adding no more than 10 authorised users to your account to ensure a manageable process.

  • How many teams can I be on?

There’s no limit to the number of teams that you can join as a member.

  • As an account owner, what if the person I want to invite to act on my behalf does not have an eBay account?

People who are invited to join a team need to have an eBay account. If someone you’re inviting to your team needs to create an eBay account, make sure they create it using the same email address you send the invitation to.

  • What parts of the eBay site work with Team Access?

Your team members can only act on your behalf in your Seller Hub. Which parts of the Hub they can access depends on what permissions you’ve granted them.

  • How do I switch accounts as a team member?

If you need to switch to another account as a team member, you can do so from the Team Access dashboard. Just find the account you want to access and select Access account. Once you’ve accessed the team account, you can also select Switch account in the blue banner across the top of the page in Seller Hub. Learn more about switching accounts with Team Access.

  • As an authorised user, can I contact eBay customer support?

Yes. If you call customer support, please let the representative know that you are using the Team Access feature and which account you are acting on behalf of.
