A new way to connect with buyers in real time
What you need to know
We’re excited to share that eBay Live has launched in Australia, introducing a new way to connect with your buyers through live video shopping. eBay Live sellers are able to showcase and sell products in real time, while buyers can engage, ask questions and purchase during live events.
eBay Live officially launched in Australia with AFL superstar Lance “Buddy” Franklin surprising shoppers by jumping onto the new live shopping platform and auctioning AFL trading cards of sentimental moments from his career.
Following its successful launch in the US, UK and Germany, eBay Live is now being introduced to a select group of Australian sellers. It’s part of our ongoing investment in creating more immersive, community-driven ways to shop and sell on eBay.
How it works
- Live shopping is here. eBay Live lets sellers host real-time selling events where you can showcase products, answer buyer questions and sell.
- Buyers can purchase instantly. Items are featured and linked directly in the stream so shoppers can purchase on the spot, without leaving the event.
- You’re in control. From product curation to how you present, sellers can bring their brand to life in a whole new way.

Next steps
We’re starting with a small number of selected trading cards and collectables sellers and will gradually expand access based on interest and demand.
- Watch an event. Get a feel for the format by exploring live or past streams in the eBay Live section of the app or site.
- Register your interest. If you’re keen to be part of eBay Live, submit an application form and our dedicated team will be in touch.
