‘Seller Refurbished’ condition to be discontinued in selected categories

To improve buyer trust and clarity, we're expanding the eBay Refurbished Program and phasing out the ‘Seller Refurbished’ item condition in selected categories.

From 5 August 2025, the ‘Seller Refurbished’ item condition will no longer be available to use for items listed in selected categories. See the full list of affected categories.

Once this change comes into effect, all existing listings in the affected categories with the ‘Seller Refurbished’ item condition will automatically be updated to ‘Used’ and any listings with errors will be ended.

NOTE: If you use a third-party tool to manage your listings on eBay, we recommend working with your service provider to update your existing listings, or create new ones before 5 August 2025.

To prepare for this change you can either:

1. Review your listings and update any items listed in the affected categories with the ‘Seller Refurbished’ item condition to the ‘Used’ condition by 5 August OR
2. Apply to join the Refurbished Program to list in one of our four refurbished item conditions (‘Certified - Refurbished’, ‘Excellent - Refurbished’, ‘Very Good - Refurbished’, and ‘Good - Refurbished’)

The program aims to enhance the shopping experience for refurbished items on eBay by establishing standards for the quality of the products and sellers listing them, as well as improving the visibility of refurbished items. Once sellers meet the program requirements, and are accepted into the program, they get access to our four refurbished item grades and:

• A refurbished ‘tick’ on their listings as a signal of trust to buyers; 
• Exclusive marketing opportunities and additional visibility onsite; and
• A refurbished dashboard in eBay Seller Hub to track their performance
