Great HD quality and features. But not very waterproof for frequent users.

This camcorder is a heavy, compact camcorder that produces very high quality HD video, but beware of its somewhat poor waterproof abilities. Its video is very nice HD at a good frame rate, and its audio is good. The video is exceptional underwater. With its powerful zoom as well, it works very well in outdoor scenarios. The photos are not very good. In fact, they are poor quality, but this is a camcorder first and a still photo camera second (so you can kind of expect bad photos). Its not great in low light conditions, but everywhere else the light and quality is amazing. However, this camcorder has one big flaw: its waterproof abilities and durability. For the occassional underwater user, it may work fine. But if you plan on using this camcorder underwater more than 2-3 times a year, I would not get it. For me, the camcorder broke in the ocean while I was snorkeling after water got into it. I thought it may have been something I did (i.e. forget to close one of the seals). So I got it repaired by a dealer, but the second time I used it after that, water leaked in again. Now I use a regular camcorder in an underwater housing. So watch out for this camcorder's durability, but other than that, the video and features are good.Read full review...

I love my camcorder!!

I love this camcorder. I bought it because it is lightweight, waterproof, and completely digital. I also love the hot yellow color! It is very easy to use, with one button controls and the battery life is long and dependable. I have used it at the waterpark with the kids and even in the snow and the lens never clouds up like my old camcorder did. I have no complaints with this camcorder, it has made capturing important events in my family's life easy and hassle free. My husband is a basketball coach and even uses it to film his games. Transferring the videos to DVD is also easy and simple. I would definitely recommend this camcorder to anyone who wants to capture life's memories in an easy, no nonsense way!!! :)Read full review...

HiDef AND Waterproof

This camera kicks butt. It has a 30x optical zoom - but you can limit it to 10x or 20x if desired. I limit it when holding it in my hand - its pretty jittery if you hold it and zoom far. On a tripod, the zoom is amazing.

It uses a SDHC card - I use an 8 gb card which holds a TON of video. The battery life is displayed on the camera's screen, so you know how much time you have before it's dead.

The software the camera comes with is sufficient to make simple movies. It exports to MP4 files, and I had trouble importing those files into Windows Movie Maker.

I moved to an area that gets THIRTEEN FEET of rain per year - so I needed the camera to be able to get wet. I hear that sometimes the lens fogs up after submerging - but that did not happen to mine. Submerge your camera as soon as you get it to make sure yours doesn't fog up.Read full review...

One Small Detail......

This is really cool. But if you are thinking about buying it, just know it is for fresh water and salt water ONLY. No pools or tanks with any kind of cleaning chemicals. The directions that have read before use on them, tell you that the waterproofing seals will be damaged and void out the warranties if used in water with any kind of chemicals. Also the warranties require you to have the camera serviced every year to replace the waterproofing seals. With that said, the camera has amazing video quality, a vivid crisp lcd display, and the picture/rapid fire pictures w/flash features are awesome. I like everything about it. I like that it is waterproof, how it takes still shots when you're videoing, and the quality of the photos and videos when you put them on your computer is remarkable. Good camera one of my favorite birthday presents! I like the color and how small and light it is. Being waterproof gives an additional spice to the camera.

I wish it would zoom back more!

I haven't used it a lot but what use I have given it seems to be good . I do wish it would zoom back more ,up close you have to be careful not to cut off the subjects heads. The picture quality and sound is good.Read full review...

Sayno Xacti VPC WH1

This is a nice HD digital camcorder for the money. Perfect for shooting in rain or underwater. I trout fish and this camera will enable me to shoot HD footage on the river. Sweet.
