Real Tarte palette!
I haven't posted here before, but I stumbled across something share-worthy. I am a full-time makeup hoarder and artist of sorts, so I most often order direct from a Brands' website for the extra perks.... but every so often, I browse 3rd party retailers for exclusives or a good deal, and this one was too unusual to pass up- one of Tartes' latest palettes popped up on eBay, NIB and free shipping for $12! I was torn between how new this palette is and the unbelievable (make believe :D) price- how could a counterfeit exist so quickly?! I already owned the real one, so I bought the cheap one out of curiosity. Upon unboxing it, I noticed many discrepancies immediately.
I didn't add notations to the images, I'll leave that to you. Because this case has a metallic effect to its' finish, I angled them near my LED light in order to show you the texture and quality of the palettes. I no longer have the product boxes, but the outer boxes were very comparable, lacking a batch date on the FAKE.
The dead giveaway is the scent- the REAL palette smells like a marshmellowy, vanilla ice cream (a bit sweeter than the scent of Tartes' PRO palette) whereas the FAKE one smells like the wooden tongue depressor sticks that doctors use to look down your throat. (As specific as that is, it was the first thing I thought of when I smelled the FAKE palette)

Even though the product packaging looks great... The product is not the original. I swatched each color and barely any visible on my arm.... Also applied on my eyelids with primer and still not impressed... I also went to my local ulta in town and compared product and once again big difference.
