Obviously, it's hard to be precise when you are trying to make small edge adjustments to your board or take out a small dink from, say, catching an edge on a rock, when you are up a mountain due to the lack of a proper means of securing your board. However, this is a very handy, light weight, pocket sized tool none-the-less and it does offer more precision than the other portable edge stones I've tried in the past.
