Nice and quality audio device! Great value for the money!

Dynavox TPR-2 did attract my attention due to its design and separate power stage, but its bargain price was another reason to consider buying. Out of the box it sounds as expected - warm, thanks to the tube of course. Another great surprise that is really quiet without unpleasant noise on higher volume, that is so common with another cheaper phono pre-amplifiers. Replacing 12AU7 original tube with some vintage brand could give another boost and different sound. Although not tried with MC cartridge I can confirm great sound on MM cartridges. Same is with the Line input, that can be used for CD or some other audio source.
Both units are very well made with quality materials, only two little plastic knobs - volume and input selector - spoil general impression, but those can be easily replaced with better aluminum ones. Neither of two units emit heat, even after hours of use.
Comparing to the more expensive Yaqin MS12B phono/line pre-amplifier I can't hear significant differences or more advantages to simply justify the higher price of Yaqin. Additionally, unlike Yaqin, Dynavox TPR-2 has the option to support MC carts and that alone makes it great bargain winner in this category and price class.Read full review...

Giant killet

Bought as as something to play, but the sound it's great with my 300b mono blocks, the phono stage is budget but upgradeable.

Super preamp, nothing better for this price!

A really good preamp for my low output MC (Denon DL-S1)!
I agree with other tests, for this price there is no better pre to get.
The sound is how it has to be with an LP.
