Arguably their best live album!

There is not a lot I can say about this double live album that has not already been said or written over the years since its release. Iron Maiden (or their record company) has released about 9 live albums which is a bit of an overkill, but if you only wanted to own one 'live' Iron Maiden album then this is it, capturing the band at their peak. The album contains their biggest and most popular songs amid a set list that covers all the ground you need from this band playing live. Descriptions of this album by heavy metal and other music magazines, and music critics have described the album as: 'possibly the greatest live album of all time'; 'easily one of heavy metal's best live albums'; 'searing collection and an absolute treasure for fans'; 'universally regarded as an instant classic in the genre'; and 'the last great album of the vinyl era.' Well that last comment may be the case regarding vinyl, but this CD issue is beautifully mastered, with clearer sound than the vinyl issue back in the day (I don't know about vinyl reissues). The twin lead guitarists are in great searing form, the bass as usual, along with the drums, drives the songs well, and Bruce Dickenson's voice, while maybe not as good as on studio albums, still shows the vocal talent that he is.Read full review...
