A unique product, well designed

This is a very unique product that serves two primary purposes: isolation/protection while using a public Wi-Fi connection, and range extension if the wireless access point is somewhat distant. It's also design well for travel, with folding AC prongs and every other port or switch inset to blend flush with the surface of the device. Kudos to the designer.

Although you can plug it directly into a wall, I use it with a charger and USB/Micro cable. The device, cable and charger all fit into a translucent plastic case made for 4 x 5 inch index cards that has a flap with two snaps. So I can pack everything together in a small case that cost me one dollar.

I already had one which I use when I go to the clubhouse of my complex and use their Wi-Fi, and wanted more that I could pack in separate bags with different computers, When I found two used on ebay at an excellent price, I snapped them up without a second thought.

Setup is a little tricky but not too much so, The good news is that the Netgear tech support is excellent. Highly recommended.

Great for traveling

Allows for security on the internet when you have insecure hotel access. It also doubles as a range extender at home.

Not what expected

It was only the item. It was not in a box or had an instruction manual. I will need to go on line to get any information about how to set up the travel roter extender and wireless bridge (PR2000).

Netgear Trek N300

This unit works as advertised. I recommend it for anyone in need of a WiFi extender on at home or on the go. I use it everyday and it hasn't failed me once.

Trek is a good travel router

I was happy that the Trek handled multiple devices in a hotel in a wireless environment. Highly recommended.

Great Travel Device

I have a few similar devices such as this one that provide portable wifi-router access when traveling or visiting a local coffee shop or similar business that provide free wifi access. This device is unique in that it allows power from either a plug-in AC receptacle or from a micro-usb source. Another unique option is the ability to save configurations within the device itself. Saving configurations within the device allows for quick start up if you should visit the same location in the future. One of the saved configurations can be flagged as the default and the portable router will automatically boot up using the settings for that configurationRead full review...
