Great Product!

Easy installation, ignition module drops straight in. Coil is compact. Only 4 wires to get up and running. I installed this on a 1998 XL1200S Sportster Sport, and am running one set of plugs and the bike runs great. The instructions on setting up initial timing etc are plenty detailed enough. My only criticism, the pre programmed ignition curves are all much the same and ‘all in’ by 2500-3000RPM isn’t that great. So factor buying a programming cable if you want to get it spot on - but for the price it’s a bargain and works great.Read full review...

99 Sportster runs great now

Nothing like getting everything in one kit,I checked around trying to find the best value for my money,ease of installation and an ignition that was stand alone,this ignition already had very good reviews,so I ordered it to replace the stock HD ignition parts on my 99 Sportster 1200 XLH,after reading and following the Ultima instructions within the ignition kit,and then installed the kit myself I gotta say I recommend this kit for anyone wanting an easy to install aftermarket stand alone ignition that has advance curves already built into it,after tuning by ear,I decided to put a timing light on and check to see how close I was,and it’s on the money,my bike now idles potato potato potato and has never ran this good since it was new,thanks Ultima for a great aftermarket ignition systemRead full review...

Best option.

I'm not a wiz at wiring but this was easy to install. The hard part is finding your key operated on/off voltage.
I used this to do a EFI to carb swap on a 1998 road king single cam evo 1340.

Can't beat it for the price.

I was skeptical when I first saw this but a friend of mine said he had good experience in the past with an Ultima kit. The Dynatek kit was a few hundred more so I decided to try the Ultima. The install was pretty easy once I got the engine TDC. I followed the static timing procedure and my '94 FXSTC fired right up. Still haven't dynamic timed her yet but with a stock 1340cc engine and the modules dip switches set to max advance she runs great on premium fuel. I've only had it installed for a few weeks now but i did two 100 mile runs so far and a bunch of around town riding and she hasn't skipped a beat. Fires right up unlike the old Crane module that was in her that usually cranked excessively and would fail after she got too hot.Read full review...

Complete, easy to install Ignition

Ease of installation with step by step instructions. Everything you need is included and for a very good price. Excellent quality. Have acquired 3 kits personally and have installed more than 6 and have not have any problems so far. I have installed them in stock bikes and street/strip application, on Shovelheads and Evos. Easy Upgrade To "Single Fire" Ignition

Well made unit is easy to install (It's a "rebaged Dyna 2000i ignition) Kit is complete and well thought out. Had to (slightly) enlarge the wire exit hole in the cam cover plate (more wires exit on this unit)
Just put an Andrews cam in my Indian Scout (88"S&S) and wanted to get away from the "Dual Fire" waste spark OEM ignition, it can present issues on a cam with more overlap.
Bike runs great and idle is much more stable than it was with the OEM cam! Still playing around with the pre-programmed advance curves and VOES switch to dial it in.
Well worth the money and install time is about 1.5 hrs and can be acomplished with simple hand tools.
I would highly recommend this ignition system

The advance curves pre-programmed are not the best for a Harley sportster. I ended up using the programming option to get it to work.
I had considerable difficulties trying to get it to program via PC and found I had to remove the unit to the point where it would clear the spark advance wheel. This is not normal based on what I've read on-line. Should be able to program installed in the bike. After installing/ re-installing and re-timing the bike I finally got a curve that works very well. The bike runs MUCH better than stock with noticeable power through the entire RPM range. Even with the issues to get it to program I have to say this unit makes a big difference. Carb backfires are nearly non-existent and bike is also much smoother (programed it to run single fire from the original dual fire).
Would be 5 stars rated if the programming issue could be resolved....
