Cost effective upgrade for LGA775 PC

The CPUs were packaged well, shipped quickly, in very good condition and worked great. A great way to upgrade a PC that accept the specs for this CPU and unable to upgrade to a Quad CPU. It had doubled the CPU speed of OEM motherboard, using CPUZ numbers and operations. Additional RAM and using a SSD for a hard drive also help. Research the PC/motherboard websites for confirmation of comparability. Updating BIOS, verify the highest front-side bus (FSB), Thermal Design Power (TDP) (65, 95and 104), chip-set and of course the socket identifier. Very cost effective to maintain a PC able to use Win10 or Ubuntu.Read full review...

Love it. Take your PC to a service shop, and they will replace your 32 bit processor with a 64 bit processor, at a very low cost. Re-load your OP system, and it will speed up.

Old workhorse!

I rebuilt and sell used computers. This chip was the most common I used. They are cheap and plentiful. I have only had one go bad in the 50 or so I used. That one was used and maybe wasn't tested before I purchased it. They are fast enough to do most work a student does. I use Intel Quads too but I can't tell the difference, they are that good. Extends life of old machine very cheaply

Had this cpu in my last custom build, for a dual core she can be fast!. Over clocks nicely also was at 3.6 on stock air and bad air flow with no issues. Older socket but king if the dual cores. Only thing better than these older sockets is the q6600 and up.Read full review...
