Nice toy but not for serious metering (not at least with A40)

Three stars for a nice toy.

Works every now and then, very often I have to reboot Galaxy A40 to get it working. Specs say that detects gamma and X-ray, but is also somewhat sensitive to alpha and beta. Gives 105microsiewert/hour and 1200CPM reading to my test Russian old compass (containing radium paintings). Radium should be an alpha emitter. The very same sample shows 212 uSw/h value using a RadiaScan701A meter and more that 2k with MiniMonitor series 900 using an E probe.

Another issue is that different softwares gives different readings (Smart Geiger Pro vs Smart Geiger vs Geiger Reader vs RadMeter).

As I said nice tool but do not take the readings seriously, buy a proper meter instead. Read full review...
