A good replacement for colron

Having used Colron dye for years they’ve changed their recipe to be water based and it’s dreadful, ruining my oak flooring. This Liberon works as well as the old Colron stuff and is a good match. Excellent. Bye bye Colron!Read full review...

Traditional stains & dyes for a better finish.

I use the traditional spirit wood days as they are faster & easier to use, especially when mixing with other dyes / stains to obtain the colour you require. The modern deriratives are just not the same, maybe they are more eco friendly but I am not sure. The spirit stains are quicker drying, do not raise the grain and accept French polish etc in the traditional way. I think the modern replacements are more suited to a varnish or spray on lacquer and therefore do not give the same softer finish.Read full review...
