Canon f1.4 lens my opinion

Anyone who knows anything about lenses know that Canon make some of the best on the market. Although this lens isn't in the L range it's still a superb piece of kit.

It's sharp, responsive whether in manual or auto mode, the focus is almost instant. You will not be disappointed in anyway shape or form if you buy this lens, I'm glad I did and have no regrets whatsoever, it's worth every penny spent.Read full review...

Lightweight and versatile

A great lens with sharp images, convenient to carry and nice bokeh. A good deal nicer than the f/1.8 but not as pricey as f/1.2.

Far better quality than the f1.8 and far less expensive than the f1.2

This is the lens that should come with any Canon camera! I had the 1.8, but found it too slow and it was pretty difficult to get the shots I wanted inside. I haven't used the 1.2 (and probably will never shell out that type of money for a lens since I only shoot as a hobby), but I'm glad I got this lens!

This Canon lens really is the nuts .. my girlie is a french photographer, and since she has taken my picture, I have come to realise how lucky my life turned out when I refused the opportunity to model swimwear for dolce and gabanna. Instead, now as a humble carpenter, living the life of solitude my inner sanctum is much better for me, as I doubt i would have coped with the strict diet requirements of todays models, I do like a good fry up, also couple this with the fact that I would have been hounded by various women from all walks of life ..(thus upsetting the frenchie). I am much happier with my anonymity in tact. last time I heard ... the dude from the calvin campaign, was badgered by so many women, allegedly, he turned gay. hope this review was useful, and remember, fashion changes with the seasons, people should change for the right reasons.. !!Read full review...

EF 50mm f1.4

Fast, sharp and a joy to shoot with.

A lens can be kept for life long, portable, high sharpness, nice bokeh

I bought it because I needed a lens with big aperture. And in terms of bokeh, 1.4 is a lot nicer than 1.8. I have used this lens for several events and street. It could be a good replacement for EF 24-70, perfect for street photography. If you use it on portrait, focusing on the eyes, the face could just be a bit blurry and gives the softened look. Whereas at aperture 2.0, the whole face gets focused and sharp, with the beautiful bokeh still. The sharpness performance at smaller aperture is amazing as well. However there is some distortions with this lens, if you are shooting sth with precision. Besides this, the lens is brilliant.Read full review...

Great Value for money, Canon lens EF50 mm F/1.4 takes great photographs

I wanted to a upgrade to a better lens, I did of lot of research, knowing that some lens can be very expensive. I decided on Canon EF 50mm F1/4 an excellent lens, I am over the moon, very pleased with my purchase.

Essential prime lens and good value

Good for range of situations from landscape, portrait (chopped sensor) and product. works really well with extension ring for macro.

Devastating

I am very upset by your service. I am sure I would love this item, however, after many emails back and forth trying to get to the bottom of this case, i am yet to receive it. I am a 17 year old girl and work hard for £3.68 an hour, saving up to buy a product as expensive as this was a big thing for me, and at the time, very exciting thinking i was going to be in possession of such a product. I wish to peruse a career in photography when i leave school next year and this lens will be very important to me. I will not leave this be until i either receive my product or am fully refunded. Please try and get to the bottom of what has happened and sort it out because i genuinely cannot put into words how sincerely upset i am about this situation.Read full review...

Great lens!

I'm very happy with this bought. I got everything i expected, mainly for 3 things : 1 - super light shooting in indoors, with no need of flash. All does f/1.4 bringing lots of light to your pictures.<br>2 - Very nice and smooth dof, bringing to focus subject and washing out everything else.
3 - 50mm for shooting portraits, with nice fov and no distortion on subject.

As expected minuses are mainly two: 1 no zoom, you have to run around to get something in picture. 2 50mm limited view angle, for example in small room you hardly get subject in to frame.

Other than that its great lens! very good quality of build and good picture quality in low light environments.Read full review...
