It's $12. Don't expect much out of it.

Tried using it for Cummins rebuild. Ring compressor is junk. No stand off for the deck, super thin that can slip into the cylinder and wedging sideways, doesn't really fully compress the rings. Pliers had problems staying on the rings. Broke oil control ring since it drove sideways into cylinder and ring jumped out. Be careful almost sliced my hand open everytime ratcheting, its also easy to rotate moving the rings. Bought quality tapered compressor, pulled the pistons and rechecked everthying.Read full review...

Doesn't work very well

I give it two stars because it did work after five tries. The mounts that hold the ratchet are bent away from the body leaving a space where there is no pressure on the rings so, because of this short space the rings don't slide into the cylinder and if you force them there is danger of damage to the rings and the piston.
I used a plastic spoon handle under the ratchet mounts and it provided enough pressure to squeeze the rings into the ring groves and slide into the cylinder. I bought this one because I couldn't find my old one, which worked for years with no problems, and needed to finish the engine i was working on. I suppose, in an emergency, if i bent the ratchet mounts backwards away from the body which would cause it to put more even pressure it may work a lot better but I don't plan on using it again.

did the job perfect on my rebuild

didnt slip a single ring and the compressor worked great. I was going to buy them separate but this worked out cheaper - very happy, worth getting.

Simple, easy to use.

Works real good. Snug them up, lift the piston a touch, tighten down, smack the piston down with wood - you're good to go. Ring plyers are awesome. Easy to use.

Cheap and plentiful

Awesome set at the money. Will compress larger to medium pistons. Easily taken apart and cut off some of the length for small engine pistons.
