Not worth the effort

They took a great movie and spent so much energy reconstructing characters and narratives to fit the woke agenda, the film was unwatchable. My husband and I were really looking forward to seeing this film as we own and love the original with Peter Ustinov. Visually it was stunning, the cinematography, sets and costumes were amazing. But making one of the main characters, Mrs Van Schuyler, a wealthy white widow into a rabid communist lesbian was a bit much, not to mention the complete recreation of the Salome Otterbourne character to accommodate an actress of colour.
