Despite the trouble, I'd opt to do it again...
Replacing standard closed-back Grover tuners on my Acoustic with these open-back Grover tuners took some effort. First, the hole for the closed-back tuners were too big. Why does this matter? Because the stem bushing on existing tuners are bolt-thru and the bushing on the open-backed tuners is a "press fit" requiring a smaller hole. In other words, wooden dowels had to be fabricated and glued in to plug the existing holes and new hole size re-drilled to accommodate the new bushings. All of this had to be painstakingly done.
Was it worth it? YOU BET IT WAS! The 18:1 tuners are GREAT and the look and accuracy of the 18:1's can't be beat! I wouldn't hesitate to do it again on another one of my acoustic guitars. Read full review...

Cost Effective!
I put these on my 1930 Gibson TGL-5, a factory converted tenor, that had the original Grover tuners with riveted pinions. They fit the original screw holes, required just a touch of reaming for the ferrules, and they should last another 80 years, easily.Read full review...

As expected
Purchased to replace generic nickel tuners that were okay, but wanted genuine Grovers in gold finish. Typical excellent Grover quality, and they work and look great.

The Quality Standard
For decades now, Grover 18:1 rotomatic tuning machines have been the standard of quality and for good reason. They are well-made and reliable provided you have put your strings on properly and have stretched them out. The 18:1 ratio is very precise and they hold tune well. There are more expensive tuners out there but it's questionable if there are better. IMHO most folks will be quite happy with these.Read full review...

Brilliant tuners
These are going on my 1953 Gretsch 6130 "Roundup", who's originals finally wore out. These are adjustable for tightness like any modern tuner, but retain a vintage look. Highly recommended!
