It works

This is the only type of Y connector that works! The other types that don.t have a switch to shut off the signal from flowing in a direction won't work unless you turn off one item and that item shuts completely turns off. I had several items that stayed connected to internet even after turning off. The drawing of signal in two directions floods the line with confusing signal. (simple explanation) This is the cheapest fix. It works and is sturdy enough to hold up unless you plan on using it for some professional business level work. Simple inexpensive workaround

I have a dual boot system, Linux and windows 10. when I boot into windows 10, I do not want to be connected to the internet, so with this switch, I put it into position B, which has no wire plugged into it, therefore no connection to the internet. when I boot into Linux, I use position A, which has an ethernet connection to the computer.
