Lightweight but perfect fit

Bought this D shaped soft closing, easy release toilet seat to replace one I'd had for 10 years, it's not as heavy duty or as solid as my previous one but it's much warmer and durable, easy to remove for cleaning, easy to fit and excellent sizing, very good price , but you get what you pay for ! in this case I wasn't expecting it to be up to much, I'm not sure it will, last as long as the old one but for now I'm very happy with my purchase.Read full review...

Good, cheap alternative

Good, cheap alternative to massively overpriced product. However, you get what you pay for..... perfectly useable although a few mms narrower than pan. Not a rigid plastic and there is a warning not to sit on the lid as it will crack. Have to push lid back two or three times to get it to stay up but good looking product, easy to clean and soft close. Overall not unhappy given the excellent price. Speedy delivery.Read full review...

Cheap and cheap

The good bits:
It's lightweight,
It's soft close,
It's a family seat.

The bad bits:
No instructions,
Fixings didn't fit my pan,
Didn't fit very well.

The seat itself appears to be fairly good quality but it is obviously made for a close coupled pan and cistern as it's long and narrow.
Once I'd finally figured out how to separate the base to fix it to the pan I found that the supplied fixings wouldn't fit and, even if they did, wouldn't hold the seat in place very well.
Luckily, I managed to use the fixings from my old seat to secure it in place and, after a bit of wriggling, found a useable position.

If I'd paid more for the seat then I would be a bit disappointed but you can't really complain about the quality of a 13 quid soft close toilet seat, never mind a family one.

Not quite luxury

Sometimes you get what you pay for, The seat is typically representative of the quality of seats at this price. A step up from basic but not what I would regard as meriting the description of 'luxury'. The term luxury when applied to an item is I suppose all in the eye of the beholder, one person's luxury is another person's satisfactory. The use of the term 'luxury' led me to have unrealistic expectations (we all like a bargain!). However, the seat is functionally fine and the delivery was prompt. Read full review...

D shape toilet seat

Although good quality just a little small. Because of the wrapping you can't really tell if it will fit properly.

Not great

As a EX maintenance fitter I am fully conversant with all toilet seats and their fittings.
That is why I gave the "luxury soft close, white oval toilet seat/quick release" a poor rating,
It is virtually imposable to obtain a tight fitting that means the seat moves very easily.
That is a safety hazard.
also when you slip the white plastic covers over the hinge it SPLITS.
That is a hygiene Hazard.
Which means that now the seat has to be thrown away.
That is a waste of money.
And that is a shame because it seems to be a sturdy seat let down by poor fittings

Lighter than expected, but solid.

Recieved it quickly and it was easy to fit Although it says heavy duty, its made of light weight plastic, which is solid. Seat and lid need to be pushed past half way for seat to close, rather than just being flicked over.Read full review...

Wouldn't recommend

Purchased thinking it should be a standard fit for any modern toilet...I was wrong. Fittings were appalling, wouldn't hold the seat up or down, it just came out of place. Good old fashioned nut and bolt would of been better. Never came with any instructions as listed, but how hard can it be just to fit a toilet seat..hmm...so I thought, this was a waste of time and money. In the bin it went. In the end I had to install the original seat that came with the toilet which took 2mins to do.Read full review...

good choice

Been looking to find a reasonably priced replacement for my toilet seat for some time as my old one replacement is £140. As this one was only £15.00 I didn't expect the same quality but it was stronger than expected. Easy to fit and looks as good as our previous.Read full review...

Not quick release.

I want to line up the fittings before i tightened them up. Put the toilet seat in place and lined them up and then could not get the seat off. No button to release it from fittings. Thought i was going to break it to release it from mountings.

Would not buy again.
