Works great but you cannot get replacement probes only

I got this original product as a gift from my son. It worked from July to October but then one probe quit working. I contacted Cuisinart and found out that they have no replacement probes for sale or have any available as a stand alone product. Since a whole new product was available on eBay for a decent price, I bought a whole new total package so that I would have two replacement probes. Actually, I ended up buying this one and one other so I now have three back-up probes. The unit itself has worked great and stays on if I am cooking outside the garage and my phone is in the house in either the kitchen or family room which has one interior wall in the way. If I go to other rooms, it starts to lose signal. I would say that the signal is good for about 50 feet and through one well insulated interior wall.
