Another Grisham Great

Follow-up to "Camino Island," but even better. Grisham is such a great author. His characters come to life as does the story. He actually managed to tell this story without lawyers. The books was published just as the hurricanes started in the Gulf Coast this year, so the hurricane in "Camino WInds" was quite prescient.Read full review

by TOP CRITICAL REVIEW

The man can tell a story.

A very slow paced mystery, at times almost soporific. But Mr Grisham is a born storyteller and manages to hold your interest. The mystery is resolved and the bad guys go to jail, but the crime is almost secondary to the hurricane, the book sale and the long held friendships. All in all a pleasant, if not gripping read. If you’ve read any of Mr Grisham’s other works, you will like this one. If not, I suggest you do NOT start with this one. Recommended.Read full review

A standard John Grisham, which means I absolutely love it

I am a heavy reader. It has been a while since I read a John Grisham, and reading this makes me realize how much more I love his style than some other authors I always thought I loved. Reading a John Grisham is like curling up in bed with a cup of cocoa, wrapped in a quilt.Read full review

A Great Beginning with Fun Characters, But the Ending Just Fades to OK.

I loved the beginning and middle of this book but not the end. It was OK, but not great. I like a really good ending but this was just so so. I felt like the author just squeezed in the ending.

Not Grisham's best but still a fairly good read.

It was a good read.. Kinda slow at times. As usual the ending was good but at time I felt like skipping ahead as it seemed to be treading water several times.

It's OK for what it is.

A lesser effort by Grisham. More like a paperback time killer than one of his best. Interesting premise. Murder covered up by a hurricane. Fast read. Some holes but I think they worked because I probably did not want to know what was left out.Read full review

title fits storm

not his best. shallow characters that drink more warm beer (line fillers?), no depth to characters or give a reader a sense of caring what they do.

Disappointed

I didn't know it was previously from a library. So there was plastic covering & tape that I managed to get off the book but huge 'library' ink stamped on the front page doesn't come off. If I buy something in excellent, like new condition, that is what I expect. Read full review

Good but not outstanding.

Good summer read. Not as good as some of his earlier books but still interesting and a good read.
