Lightweight and compact.

The multicoated lenses and BAK4 prisms have better transmission (95%) and thus a brighter view than comparable binos I had in the past (eg a Tasco 10x25 transmission only 75%). Also, a bench test indicated a magnification of about 8x rather than 10x. But this is probably an advantage as it increases exit pupil size at the eyepiece which adds a bit more to a brighter image and steadier hand-held view.

While the binocular feels robust and easy to handle, the view in my pair is marred by miscollimated optics (out of alignment) with slightly mismatched images in each eye giving a headache after a few minutes of viewing. Which is a shame. It probably was overlooked in quality control or handled roughly before I receive it. I am a veteran telescope and binocular user.Read full review...
