Disappointing Sound Quality Even for a Live CD

Albert Collins is one of the greatest blues men of all time. His guitar sound is as unique as unique gets -- creative, charged with energy, absolutely excellent. His vocals are also strong and absolutely unique. When a person hears Albert Collins, there is no question of who it is. Unfortunately for this CD, it's from a very earlier time in Collin's career and is so poorly recorded that his music is hardly recognizable. For someone who wants to study Collins from start to finish, perhaps it's an essential addition. For someone who wants to enjoy Albert Collins for the pure joy of his creative genius, this is a poor substitute for one of his great studio albums such as "Ice Pickin'" or even other live efforts such as "The Iceman at Mount Fuji." This one probably won’t be played often.Read full review...
