I was looking for dvds with Judi Dench in and bought this one. It was great to watch and I would recommend it to anyone.

Oscar worthy performances in a superb film

I caught the last 30mins of this film on TV a while ago and more than enjoyed what I saw, regretting that I had missed the whole film.So, good old Ebay, and bought the dvd. Now relaxed and watched it through. Film set in an English secondary school where teacher Barbara ( Judi Dench)has her own agenda for being nice, and teacher Sheba (Cate Blanchett)lets her bohemian background and stressful home life lead her astray in an affair with a pupil. Barbara is aware, how will she use this knowledge to her own advantage? With outstanding acting roles from Cate Blanchett and Dame Judi Dench as the main characters surely no more needs to be said. Controversial story line coupled with hidden agendas and some Oscar-worthy acting surely makes this a must have. The language and the subject matter may offend (teacher-pupil relationship)but the human dramas and loyalties that ensue seem so true to life. If you can live with that then you will be treated to possibly one of the best films to add to your collection. Its one of mine.Read full review...

Notes on a Scandal DVD

Forget all the "lesbian interest" hype, you don't even know there's anything like that going on til the end !
The great thing about this film is its a wicked tale of jealousy, affairs and trying not to get found out, hence, blackmail and a very tangled web !!
The two leading ladies play their parts brilliantly and keep you on the edge of your seat all the way. Great film ! Easy viewing for those who like a good story with twists and turns along the way..... Enjoy !Read full review...

decided to buy this dvd because i missed the film at the cinema due to being on holiday.
the storyline was brilliant and the film well acted by two great stars.
one of those stories that could really happen and thats what made it a good film to watch.
