PQ mediocre, but entertainment shines through
A surprisingly enjoyable and accomplished start for Ron Howard as a director, both agreeably breezy and undeniably funny, not to mention technically astute with the car stunts.
Being an early Umbrella disc of a low-budget drive-in offering, the picture quality here is something to be tolerated rather than impressed by, but the fun still takes off like it’s supposed to, and the visual flaws (at least in this particular presentation) are ultimately tolerable.
