Sound quality is great. Features are great.
My issue is the size of the buds. It's quite difficult to set them in your ear properly. And forget about drinking or eating when using them as moving your jaw moves them around a bit and it will more than likely become too loose and you will lose the noise cancellation from that alone. If you are looking for NC when travelling then they are great. But if they are for use all the time then maybe find another brand. Read full review...

Great earphones with quirky issues...

When you first get these you have to download the Sony app and update the earphones, choose settings etc. You can also optimise a few things and let it test your ear fitting etc. This takes about 30mins or so.
Sound:- Excellent. Some of the best sound you'll hear from earphones, full stop. The accompanying app has a full equaliser, clear bass enhancement etc. Really customizable. They can hit some real lows, trebles can be as bright as you like. There's also a nice wide soundstage. And they go really loud.
Fit:- I suffer with earbud types, my ears simply don't suit them unless they have "earhooks", these don't but they fit great. Get the right size bud and they're very secure. No need to readjust all the time and they stayed put even with a lot of head movement.
Controls:- Customisable and easy to use. I have volume control on the left and music control on the right. Simple and intuitive.
Noise Cancelling:- I don't use any of the differing modes, just straight up full ANC on. It's very good, not as blocking as my old Bose QC15s or my over ear Sony cans but still excellent. They do suffer from that wind effect in bad weather, that ANC headphones suffer from but that's a given. Background noise is a minimum, and the hustle of the bus is almost gone. There is some noise leakage but that was in a quiet office when I first got them and they were on near full volume.
Battery life:- Again, excellent. The stated life is easily attained. Take them out of the case, they connect, take them out of your ears they pause, put them back in the case and they turn off. How all wireless buds should behave!
Connection:- I've had zero drop out, end of. They connect instantly and stay connected. You can choose between sound priority or connection priority in the app. I'll be honest, there's little to no difference between the two when it comes to sound quality so I have the connection stability as priority.
All in all, these should be a 5* product but I've only given them 4 and that's because I've noticed the "quirky issue" from the review title. In one instance I couldn't change or pause music. When I went into the app I noticed it didn't recognise any music being played. When you take them out of the case, open the app first. Let them connect to that and then you're good to go. A bit long-winded but you'll get full functionality. Seems a software flaw but you can overcome that.
I really like these, a lot. I've had a few other wireless buds, and each have had varying issues be it fit or connection issues etc. These are the first where, connecting to the app first issue aside, I pretty much can't fault them. Love them.

these are good in lots of ways

these are my first ear buds , these are good in lots of ways, theres plenty of you tube videos
on these if you want a better idea of them. the ANC does not seem to work as good as over ear ones, but i like lightweight in my ears rather than big over the ears ones when i go shopping, call quality is good. they do seem to lose connectivity a few times with the ANC im
guessing,

Best sound best noise cancelling.

Have tried quite a few different tws earbuds all the main brands. Can honestly say always end up going back to these sony wfs. They have the best all round sound without that annoying over powering bass you get from jabra 75ts for example. The noise cancelling is simply the best in an ear bud this size, the new bose ones may be better haven't tried them so for me it's these everytime.Read full review...

Good buds, let down by a gimmicky useless, but necessary app.

Quite impressed with these buds, although the software (app) to control them is poorly designed. I used them in conjunction with a hinged crash helmet, and at first they fell out every time I took the helmet on or off.
I persevered, and found a technique that worked, and from then on .. happy days.
My motorcycle setup involved my phone in a tank bag, with the software open so I could control the sound and on/off functions without removing my helmet. Its best if you completely disable the touch functions on the bud themselves for obvious reasons.
The bluetooth mostly connected without any issues, but about 10% of the time, either just one bud would connect, or sometimes not at all, meaning you had to take the bud out, pop back in the case to reset them, then take out to ensure they connected to the app.
Once setup, they worked fine, and the silicone bud probably provided more sound cancelling than the gimmicky app, that tries to continually adjust, for ambient noise, dropping audio frequently as it tries to get it right. I ended up turning that feature off.
Battery life was good, and I got a good days use, with a 30 min recharge at lunchtime helping.
The buds were comfortable, although you can feel the weight in your ear.
One last word on the app - its full of gimmicks, like taking a pic of your ear to fine tune the sound ... really ! But yet basics like an easy to find volume control are missing, and whoever chose a light brown on white color scheme has never tried it in sunlight !

Revealing sound quality, excellent noise cancelling, excellent battery life

Good midrange/treble clarity, bass is present but not overwhelming. Good detail and separation between voices/instruments. Sennheiser family sound is silkier but these are clear and honest without being fatiguing. Stereo image is not the best but that seems to be a feature of all earbuds I've tried. Noise cancelling works well, as long as the right earbuds are worn to create a good seal. Doesn't cope with wind noise directly on the earbuds, best just turning ANC off. Finish quality seems excellent as expected from Sony. Battery life is great so far. Charge and carry case looks/feels good. Read full review...

Brilliant especially after price reduction.

Easy to connect to loads of devices. I connect between my phone, work laptop and PC. They just swap between effortlessly. The sound quality is amazing. The noise cancellation... Right here's the thing about noice cancelling. Cut through the marketing nonsense and you have to realise that none of them are perfect. Sound is going to travel into your ears through means other than down you ear canal and sound can travel directly through the devices themselves but the cancelling effect of these is frankly astonishing how much it quietens stuff down. You end up so isolated that if you aren't listening to something you start to think you are the loudest breather in the world. Sit somewhere busy and the world around you fades away. You stll get peaky sound like voices coming through but much reduced. Any consistent background tone is eliminated through the speakers but you might still hear when it's been passed through the device or through your head. Wow i hope that makes sense.

Anyway, with the included tips it's very easy to find a brilliant fit, dont be afriad to mix and match sizes you might have one ear canal bigger than the other. Sadly bigger ear canals arent something that women find attractive. In any case mine were tiny, make of that what you will.

I absolutely love these headphones. Lastly, the call quality of microphone pickup has been massivley improved recently with a firmware update so make sure to do that.

Reviews are mostly spot-on

The reviews were pretty much all positive about these which lead me to purchasing them. So far I'm extremely impressed with the sound quality - easily the best ear buds I've ever owned. They are very light and easy enough to use.

The bad points - there's not really any particularly bad points, just a few minor things which could be improved. First the app is a little fiddly, it's user friendliness could be improved. In practice once set up I don't use the app much though. Second, they fit well but I'm always a little afraid they might fall out, compared to a pair of Jabra ear buds I own. Third the case is a little bigger than the Jabra. Hasn't been an issue or anything though, just a comparison.

The noise cancelling was reviewed as excellent - but it's nowhere near as good as the Sony over-the-ear headphones. Perhaps this is to be expected since these are smaller but expected better based on the reviews. If you have no prior experience with noise cancelling though you should be impressed enough. They will dampen most low frequency background noise satisfactorily, but they won't make things silent.

Overall, fantastic product.

Good

Pretty happy with them, noise cancelling is surprisingly good, it's great having no wires and battery life is really good. Quite comfortable and light, feel solid in the ears, my ear holes were a little sore after long and repeated use but I think I can sort that by using smaller or aftermarket tips. Range is good on the Bluetooth and they work through walls which is great when wandering around the house doing things and with no wires getting in the way. I think they are priced quite well and quality seems good, if looked after should last a long time. Sound quality is very good and clear.Read full review...
