Fourth replacement and still completely unusable, tinted, uneven screen! 4!

Im on my fourth u2410 in 2 months of purchase. This monitor was recommended to me and I read some favourable reviews on tinternet. All the monitors that I have received have been completely unusuable for photo editing. Various issues with the quality of the screen, blue to yellow variations, pink / green tinting, luminance uneveness, just generally all over the place.

Dell use the same screens as the Eizo cg243 and NEC spectraview 241, these are high high quality monitors and their prices (£1000+) reflect this. Clearly the quality control procedures at dell are lacking.

As they market this monitor as having perfect picture quality and a 96% adobergb gamut then its meant for semi-pro use, but at the quality i've experienced it's not good for even web browsing.

This review may seem a tad extreme but after viewing four models this is the result.

An Excellent Higher End Screen

I bought this monitor with the intention of buying 2 more, for use in an Eyefinity 3-Screen setup. The product is absolutely fantastic, the picture quality is excellent, even over a cheaper model of the same resolution due to the excellent IPS-based panel. The stand is sturdy with plenty of adjustment, and the screen will accept VESA mounting devices. One downside is that the monitor can tend to get fairly warm, especially when displaying a similar image for an extended period of time, such as web browsing. The onboard interface is simple and easy to use with the range of inputs available.Read full review...

Monitor for Photography

I wanted a 24" monitor for editing my photos so I could see clearly what the results would be. Many monitors for photographers are too pricey. If you read the spec for this one you will see that it suits photographers. I am not technically minded, so cannot comment. It was very easy to set up and gives good colour reproduction and detail. The only problem was that it was far too bright. Using a colour calibration device for the screen means this is easy to alter. Controls for brightness, contrast etc are on the right above the power light. This product is not cheap but a very good buy. I would recommend it. I am delighted with my purchase.Read full review...

The best 24-inch monitor money can buy

This is a stunning monitor once you do two things: select the right preset (I chose Adobe RGB) and most important of all, install the colour profile that comes on CD. That last step is important as without it the colours will be off.

When that's done it's amazing. In fact it's so good that my previous monitor - a high-quality Samsung that's been demoted to a secondary display - now looks awful in comparison. The U2410 is extremely bright without being hard on the eyes.

I bought the U2410 to give me more screen space and to give accurate colour representation for photo editing: it certainly delivers in both those areas.

Two unexpected benefits are the USB ports (two hard-to-reach ones on the back, two easily-accessible ones on the side) and SD card-reader (on the side). They're icing on the cake.

I also considered the Dell Ultrasharp U2711 but despite costing nearly 50% more it only gives you a few more vertical pixels - most of the extra size comes horizontally, which isn't as valuable for most work. Height is where it's at, baby.

You simply can't get a better monitor than this at this size.

I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

I bought this because I wanted a new monitor for the desktop I was building and wanted to replace my old 19 inch Samsung that was 7 years old. Bought directly from Dell and item arrived promptly. Packaging stated the monitor is calibrated before being sent out and to be honest, I've not made a single change to the original settings and have been very happy with the images/contrast/brightness/colours. I guess if you're a perfectionist or do commercial work you might need to calibrate, but otherwise it's fine straight out of the box. The 2 USB sockets on the side are useful, as is the built-in card reader. In 15 months of everyday usage, I have not developed a single issue with dead pixels..etc...This is definitely a very good 24 inch monitor, though some might find it a tad expensive.Read full review...

Expensive but quality screen.

I bought the 2410 and 2412 for a dual setup.

Both screens are very similar, the biggest technical difference is the card reader that is included in the 2410 is not present in the 2412. A few more input options too.

Great 16:10 workspace and rotates to portrait too. Height and tilt adjustable. Sharp picture with great colour reproduction.

My only gripe is the price, If I were to buy another I'd go for it's poorer sister the 2412 as it is much better value for money.

Awesome, Great-Value

Great monitor with amazing image quality. It has loads of ports, allowing me to connect my PS3, PC and even my PlayStation 1!!! It also has an Audio-out port so I can connect my speaker for all my devices that I need. The resolution is Full HD and the IPS panel adds to the already good image quality.Read full review...

Bad video quality.

Static images are really Ok, claer and with lot of detail. Video images, even 1080p, really poor, not clear and blurry. I've read on internet lots of people having image problems with this monitor. the menu buttons are just horrible. If you have to work with photo edition maybe this is your monitor, if you want a monitor for work but for watching films as well avoid and go for other one.Read full review...
