I purchased the Playstation 3 Slim as a Christmas gift for my 12yr old cousin. From the moment he opened it his eyes popped out of his head! The console is sleek, slimline and a very appealing item. It contains many aspects you would expect from a good game console including amazing graphics, a BluRay player, online adaptibality and many more features which make this console an all around technological joy.

The only issue I have with the PS3 is that it does not come with a HD cord. If you have a PS3 on a HD TV or a SD TV for that matter with the SD connection, the graphics are less than amazing, they border on PS2 standards.

Once we connected a HD cable to his HD TV (also a Christmas gift) the PS3 came to life. The difference in graphics and sound quality is similar as to what one would expreience changing from a SD TV to a HD TV and then some! We were astonished to see the difference it made. I think the brilliance of the PS3 is that it is so adaptable. You can take it from traditional controller gameplay and extend the exp[erience in so manny ways.

I certainly recommend the PS3 for those who love a brilliant gaming expreience. Just don't forget you HD TV and that ever important HD cable! It has been 3 days since Christmas and I am yet to see my cousin leave his PS3 for any great length of time...Read full review...

Best Gaming Experience. Good Value For Money. The Best!

Why you bought it - Because I played it at friends and is by far the ultimate gaming console available for purchase at this time (discluding the pc)
What you like most about it - The exclusive games. The amazing graphics. The free blu ray player inside of it. The online gaming experience. The free online.
What you dislike about it - Well I can't think of anything... except for some anoying online gamers who talk $H1T all day long in online gaming...

I bought it to update from ps2 as you can no longer get the games,also it was to play new blueray dvds,it was cheaper than a Blueray player,you can also go online with it to play in multiplayer sessions which is fun,I'm very happy with it.Read full review...

helpful review, read if looking to buy one, accurate research and info

OK everyone I bought a replacement for my 40gb that had failed after 7 years. The console I had received was a practically brand new 120gb slim, it plays well, much quieter like everyone says and when there is a lot happening in the game the frame rate doesn`t slow down and loading seems to go way faster, for example the loading screen when continuing The Last Of Us took a few seconds compared to almost two minutes. It also boast a better design still keeping the console cool ( after 5 hours) and placing the vents in a smarter point to reduce dust flowing into the console, the old model had so many air vents for dust to go through, the back, front, both sides, it was practically made of mesh with a solid top and bottom. For anyone interested in acquiring a ps3 look for a slim model not only do they chew much less electricity and do the same thing they also have improved hardware making them much more impervious to the YLOD ( yellow light of death), I had done my research and for many companies in Australia (where I am), America and Japan and the numbers are all pretty much same for every 100 ps3 consoles they receive for repair 7-10 of those are slim models. To wrap this up the only down side to the slim model is they do not play ps1/2 games so I have heard. I have not tried this for the only reason that makes sense if you play those games on an HD tv, even with an emulator ( most emulators) the pixilation looks horrible and that's because your old CRT televisions displays differently at a 1:1 ratio which is why on an HD tv ( LCD, Plasma or what ever) that is 16:9 or 3:4 etc. the pixilation is distorted. So if you plan on buying this console or the older ps3 model in hopes to play ps1/2 games I wouldn`t be doing that because most of those popular games you can download on the play station network from a few dollars to no more than about $15 for upscaled versions. Some games are metal gear solid, odd world, tomb raider, crash bandicoot etc. and many more classics.Read full review...
