Rugged watch with accurate time

I previously had one of these watches and loved it. After many years I accidentally broke the band and have now replaced it. The Casio G-Shock is the only digital watch I've ever liked. It's easy to set, it keeps extremely accurate time, and it puts up with my mistreatment as though nothing happened. I've worn it in the shower, dropped it on hard ground, and it still hasn't missed a beat. I don't often use the stopwatch, alarm and timekeepers, but they have come in handy when I've needed them. I usually wear dress watches when I go to important functions, but for everyday knock-around wear this digital watch is perfect.Read full review...

Almost perfect...

Love the G shock, solar power, 20 bar, auto light, stopwatch, auto calendar and simple easy to read layout. This watch is lightweight and stylish.
My only beef is that the alarm sound is very high pitched and as I'm of above average age my hearing is not quite what it used to be, and consequently I cannot hear it. This means the alarms, hourly chime and countdown timer are useless to me. Which is a shame as I was going to be using all of these features. The addition of a vibrating alarm would've alleviated this issue, but unfortunately there is no vibrating alarm on this watch!Read full review...

clear display time and power last very long. never need to change battery.

best of all, it got quality solar battery which just need to exposose to weak lights for 15 mins from low battery, that will last very long.
the display is very clear to enable to read time easily.

It's a keeper

The fact that this style and design has not changed since 1996 means it's possibly never going to be out of fashion. It looked good then and it looks good now. I have small wrists and usually wear watches less than 40mm. This is probably the only G Shock which does not look oversized on a thin wrist and is absolutely lightweight and comfortable. I also find myself using the alarm, stopwatch, countdown timer and backlight a lot more than I thought I would seeing how I didn't have a watch with those functions before. The build quality is excellent and I have no doubt that it will last me a very long time. This watch is not expensive when you consider what you're getting for the money. If you're looking for a quality reliable watch to use daily to school or work then this is one of the best for pretty much anybody.Read full review...

Great for me as a tennis coach

I do tennis coaching, and couldn't find a good small-medium sized watch to wear that wouldn't get caught up in my wrist actions needed for my tennis.
This was the perfect watch, not big like usual g-shocks that I also own, and it has 8-10 months solar charge so battery replacement is non existent so far (only have had for a month). If you enjoy a smaller sized G shock then this is 5/5!Read full review...

G shock Casio classic

Sleek easy to read classic style. Heavy duty but not so heavy that the watch becomes antiquated like some g shock watches.
Sometimes it tends to run my wrist and cause a slight discomfort but that can be avoided by tightening so the watch doesn’t slide so much

Nostalgia Plus!

It's great to be wearing a watch that is about as close to the original G-Shock I used to wear as a kid back in 1984! Whilst it doesn't look nearly as huge and chunky on my adult wrist as it did on my wrist at age 11, it's still awesome to look down and see the classic retro stylings of the 5000 replicated in the 5600.

Almost indestructible

I have worked in emergency services where a tough, reliable watch is crucial. I keep buying this or similar model G-Shock watches. The only thing that has finally stopped them is battery life, though they still last around ten years. They have otherwise never let me down.Read full review...
