Ambitious and fun

I love this book. The recipes are ambitious for me, but the instructions are clear and detailed. The author also writes about what makes each dish special and what can be substituted (e.g, can make with pork instead of chicken, or add extra green chillis to make the dish more spicy).

The section on ingredients - many of which are not familiar to me, having grown up on Western cooking - is both useful and interesting.

Downsides:
- it's such a beautiful book I don't want to get it messy in my kitchen. Since this is eBay, consider purchasing one second hand or not in mint condition.
- some ingredients are very hard to find, leaving me looking at a number of recipes that I can't make (yet).

It helps that I love eating in Neil Perry's restaurants :)Read full review...
