Some calibration needed

For the money, this tester is a good deal. It does require a little calibration, though. Mix up a small amount of new brake fluid with 2% water using a graduated eye dropper. Dip the tester into the solution and see just how deep the probes need to go to register 2% and no more. Tape off the probes with electrical tape at the appropriate depth. I found 3mm enough to correctly register the 2% mixture. More than that resulted in an over-estimate of the water content.Read full review

Sometimes testers work, and sometimes they don’t

I thought I would test my brake fluid, so I purchased this item thinking that it would work, but it gave me bad readings on brand new brake fluid in a bottle and then when I looked it up online, they say that there isn’t very many low priced accurate products for this type of testing. Double Check Your Dealership

My wife and I had the typical experience at a car dealership when having a service done on each of our vehicles (on the same day). They both needed a cabin filter (I'd just replaced them) and a recommendation to flush our brake fluid due to a 3% moisture content. Pretty good overall.

Seems fairly accurate. A nice diameter so you are not trying to clutch a straw. Battery compartment seems a little small for a AAA-battery. It won't stay closed, a little piece of gorilla tape fixed that, but pressure on the battery door will turn the unit back on if not careful.Read full review

I can't really confirm of it works or not because I've only tested on brand new dot 4 fluid but it did confirm 0% water level. I'm hoping to try it on some old dirt brake fluid soon
