Classic 50cent arcade action

Great vintage game. Supremely overpriced for the age of this game. Decent graphics for it's time. Voice acting is spot on for the characters. Controls are tight and responsive.

50 Cent:Blood on the Sand is a legit action game.

I think we are all a little gulity when we see an over-the-top action movie that couldn't possibly happen. This game is exactly the same concept. Now I know what you are thinking: a game with 50 Cent as the main character. Must be terrible like the previous one right? No. Actually its good. Really good.

So whats the plot? Well, its completely ridiculous. You are 50 Cent and have just played the final gig of your tour in the middle east. You come off stage demanding your $10 million and pull a gun on the promoter when he refuses. Instead of payment he offers you a diamond encrusted human skull. You seem happy with that and set off to the airport, along the way you get ambushed and the skull gets stolen. Rightly angry Mr. "Fiddy" then gets out his guns and sets off with a partner from G-Unit to get it back.

I have to say that the plot makes zero sense from then on. Characters are introduced with no real explanation and really you have no real idea of whats going on. But it doesn't matter to much because this game is one of the few examples where an overblown plot just adds to the fun. So its best just to roll with it.

So whats the gameplay? Well, its very similar to Gears of War, with cover system and virtually the same controls. However, when you dispatch enemies you get a score which adds up dependent on combosexplosive kills ire kills headshots etc. You can also earn bonus points as at certain times during the level you are given timed bonus objectives (kill X number of enemies, collect X amount of money etc.). It is a system that works extremely well and adds a lot of fun to the gameplay, at the end of the level you are awarded a goldsilverronze medal depending on your score. In this way, the game is similar to The Club. This is then updated to a leaderboard to compare with your friends. The only negative point is that most of your score is dependent on the collectibles you pick up during the mission rather than your effectiveness at taking out enemies.

The gameplay works very smoothly and moving 50 Cent around is very fluid. The level design is interesting and the enemy placement is well thought out. It is obvious alot of effort went into this game.

The drop indrop out co-op option for a friend to play the G-Unit character also runs very smoothly and I played several games and experienced had zero lag. This is a game which works extremely well in coop mode and is alot of fun.

It is very difficult to find anything bad to say about this game. The only things holding it back are that its not very long. Most likely it needs a playthrough once on easy to earn the cash needed for the weapon upgrades and a second on hard. So this game probably only lasts around 15 hours in total. Hard is at the right balance of being challenging but not frustrating. The other downside is that this would have benefited from multiplayer. I don't normally like most multiplayer gamemodes that seem to be shoehorned into what should just be a single player game. But I think the combat system works so well in this game then it would have been a good addition.

If you are a 50 Cent fan the soundtrack will no doubt please you as well as some of the songs are exclusives. The songs never become intrusive of the gameplay.

This game will surprise you. But, due to the short length of the campaign and no competitive multiplayer to speak of, I would recommend it as a rental or a cheap purchase. Thanks...

50 Cent: Blood in the Sand is a fun playthrough

OVERALL GAME RATING (QUICKVIEW)
Graphics: 8/10
Sound: 9/10
Controls: 7/10
Gameplay: 7/10
Replay: 6/10
Overall: 7.5/10

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are very good in this game. I went into the game with low expectations (considering the last 50 Cent game release). The in-game rendering, images, and colors really put you into the desert. The most interesting thing that this game does well are the explosions, and the animations of the deaths. The shadows, lighting effects, and motions are good, and get you into the game. The enemies, though generic and repetitive, are well done, and the boss battles look great when in the heat of the mix.

Sound: 9/10
What gives this game a 9/10 in the sound department is the soundtrack. If you are a “50” fan, you will love this soundtrack. I wanted to keep playing the game to progress further and to obtain more and more songs. The score to the game is great too. The explosions, enemy banter, and side commentary really fill in this game. Don’t let your kids play it though.

The voice acting is good for what it is. What is impressive is that they were able to get Lance Reddick (The Wire/ Fringe) for a cameo role.

Controls: 7/10
The game is easy to pick up and play if you are a fan of the Gears of War series. The controls get a little sketchy when you want to run from cover to cover, or when you want to pinpoint a grenade throw. The shooting aspect is very well done, but the movement and cover controls knock this score down a bit.

Gameplay: 7/10
Let me start by saying that when playing this game with a friend in the co-op mode, there is nothing better. But if you have to go it solo, this is still a fun experience. This game can be completed in about 4-8 hours (depending on skill level and difficulty setting), but it is an enjoyable experience. It is a through back to some fun gaming without the serious overtones found in many games.

Replay Value – 6/10
This is a good game, and a fun game, to play. The game is not too serious, and silly on it’s premise of why 50 Cent is fighting the Middle East. This being said, this was an enjoyable playing experience, especially in co-op mode, to go through. All I can say is that if you disregarded this game because of it being a 50 Cent game, take another look and you won’t be disappointed.

If you liked Gears of War, then you may like this.

Game Scale:
1 – Horrible
2 – Really Bad
3 – Bad
4 – Weak
5 – Fair
6 – Above Average
7 – Good
8 – Very Good
9 – Excellent
10- Perfect

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

This game has teh feel from quite a few games which makes it easy to pick up and play. Games like Gears of War, Army of 2 and even Saint's Row give this game a lot of noteworthy reasons to play.
<br>First, the co op is what I look for in a game. Played the whole game thru co op w/ not one issue. THQ did a great job w/ this one. I like the combat system as well. You can do all kinds of different moves. The weapons are pretty badass as well. There is an array of different kinds to blow your money on.

All around great game.

Fun, worth the ride if you get it at a discount

Pros: lots of fun, new 50 Cent music, does not take itself too serious, Gears of War type gameplay including co-op and cover system

Cons: limited to mature audiences only due to violent content and profanity, enemies have to be shot it seems a dozen times before they go down, you can buy different weapons but after I dropped mine for weapons dropped by enemies I could not retrieve them later in the game and could not buy them again - maybe it was just me but it was frustrating, game only lasts about 6 hours...

In conclusion: Fun game, like a long blockbuster action movie but not worth full price admission...

Best soundtrack for a game ever!! G-UNIT

I bought 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand (Xbox 360) and havn't put the controller down yet. This game has one of the best soundtracks ever if your a 50 fan. The game is cool you get to pick a side kick to roll with you and kick butt either banks or yayo. It is a little like the first person shooter 50 cent came out with for a xbox a couple years back. The game lacks some features of a top level game but its 50!!Read full review...

Despite What You Think This Game Is Amazing!

I don't even really like 50 cent that much, but after hearing lots of good news about this game I decided to try a copy. To my disbelief, this is actually one of the funnest games i think i have ever played. Sort of a mix between The Club and Army of Two. Has a very cool points system. You get cash to spend on new weapons, theres some fun driving missions. All in all a very very good action title for the Xbox 360. Dont miss this game, pick one up!Read full review...

Good Quality Game

The game is pretty cool, on the Xbox I found it to be a little slower than on the Playstation 3. The game in general at first I thought would be a quick 3 hours and done it has excellent play back value and lasted for a pretty long time. The story line is good, its a lot better than bullet proof. Cool game, cool experience.Read full review...

Gears of War 2 (with 50 cent)

This game is incredibly similar to Gears of War 2, so if you enjoyed that game's single player campaign you'll surely enjoy this game. The gunplay and cover system are almost identical. While I'm not a fan of the rapper/gangster persona of 50-cent I had read many good online reviews of this game and figured it would just be a mindless summer blockbuster style game. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was much more than that. If you want a fun shooter with a personality, lots of great guns and an over the top story that never takes itself too seriously pick this game up!Read full review...
