I previously had one of these instant water heaters and the wiring to the heating elements burnt out after a year or so of use.
This replacement unit has had a change of design with the wiring now connected to the elements at the bottom of the 'tank' instead of the top - so closer to where the cold water comes in and presumably cooler.
Hopefully this will last longer.
