Happy Never After HARDCOVER 1995
This was an older book of Ms. Trocheck that I picked up and as much as I love her other books, including the ones without Callahan Garrity, this was not her very best, but still, you have snappy dialogue, a well done mystery and of course, Callahan, so you'll read it anyway.
The characters have plenty of pizazz, but things really get going when they all show up for a birthday party, or maybe it is a housecleaning expedition?
The story has a bit of everything in it from the slightly drunk country club golfers to the staking out of a boyfriend who might be suspected of sleeping with his ex-wife. Callahan was a little tougher in this book, and the language a little more 'blue' and the ending did not end up happily ever after for some. Still a real good read.Read full review...
