A must-see classic!

While the story may seem a bit dated, the honesty and sentiment are just as true now as they ever were. 3 wives sit and contemplate the effect that 1 woman's shadow has had over all of their marriages. A treasure trove of subtle, but beautiful performances. Most notably by Linda Darnell and Kirk Douglas. A must for your collection!Read full review...

Vintage melodrama still packs a punch

As they're boarding a boat for an all-day charity picnic, three women receive a letter from a so-called friend who didn't show up for the excursion. Proving that "frenemies" have been around longer than the word, the letter reveals that the writer has run off with one of the three women's husbands. But it does not say which one! It's too late to get off the boat, even if the ladies wanted to abandon the orphans aboard. As the boat glides past a pay phone on shore, the longing looks on the three faces say it all. Cellphones haven't been invented yet, so the women will spend a torturous day wondering which hubby flew the coop. In flashbacks, we see that Jeanne Crain's husband is a sweet guy, but his wife doesn't always fit into his socially-prominent world --- and the "frenemy" is his ex-girlfriend. Ann Sothern's husband seems like the cheating type, and he's wearing a suit when it's supposed to be his day off. Linda Darnelll married a wealthy older man for security; he got a trophy wife; neither really loves the other --- or do they? The solution isn't obvious. Will satisfy fans of mystery, melodrama, & romance.Read full review...

Letter to Three Wives

This film has a excellent cast, great movie, one of my favorites!
I thought it would tell you who was narrating , turns out it is Celeste Holms, however she gets no credit for it at the end of the film, I needed to research it out.
Overall it's a great women's film...
