The dual processor showed much speed increase when using a 64 bit distro.

The Athlon 64 X 2 3800 works great. Installed it with no problem though I increased cooling with a larger fan so it would not run so hot. It has not failed and continues to deliver Win XP pro performance I would expect. An increase in memory and memory speed gave it what felt like a doubling in speed. The 2GH base speed of the processor seamed much faster.
Running with linux Ubuntu was remarkable. The speed was so much faster then Win XP. The version Ubuntu used was a 64 bit version so it obviously took advantage of the dual processor.Read full review...

An oldie, but runs Windows 10 64 bit just fine

It even works for simple games and basic applications. Recommended if you're building on the cheap, or upgrading an old system, this CPU is worth considering.

Getting old, but still does the job very well!

Great processor for everyday computing
